introduction
Specialist products need to be installed and maintained in strict compliance with the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure ongoing functionality. In an institutional environment it is critical that life-safety systems function as required. Often specialist products are installed in a non-conforming way, rendering key elements of their design or purpose useless.
We have addressed this issue by issuing detailed technical specifications with our products. Each technical specification has clear instructions on installation, testing, commissioning, certification, and ongoing maintenance requirements.
To ensure compliance with the product technical specification and relevant standards, close monitoring of installation contractors is maintained by our certification system. Contractors can also be randomly selected for audit to ensure compliance.
Our certification scheme gives our clients knowledge that the products and systems are installed correctly and will perform to the specification.
WHY CERTIFY
Choosing a certified product demonstrates practical steps taken to ensure the safety of your patients, inmates, and staff. It ensures that your environment is suitable now and into the future.
Certifications are conducted in compliance with the product technical specification or developed testing, maintenance, and certification plan.
The certification process is completely transparent, well-documented, and externally audited to ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015.
Certification types
Initial certification (Certificate of Conformity) is issued for all products once commissioning and COC application has been lodged and processed. This initial COC lasts for 12 months, then testing and maintenance (as per the technical specification) must be carried out for reissue of a new 12 month certificate.
FOR NON ALTS PRODUCTS
We can develop specific testing and maintenance plans for non–AL Technical Services products and combine with testing, maintenance, and certification of ALTS products to ensure all products and systems in the environment are functioning correctly. ALTS is able to issue a Certificate of Conformance to the developed testing and maintenance plan for a maximum period of 12 months.
CELL/ROOM CERTIFICATION
Cell/room certification is also available to certify all anti-ligature and life safety devices are compliant and functioning. A cell/room certification system will be developed for your specific application, with each product/system having its own certification, testing, and ongoing maintenance process written. ALTS is able to issue a Certificate of Conformance to the developed testing and maintenance plan for a period of 12 months. This service allows for completely independent ongoing testing, maintenance, and certification of your spaces to ensure compliance and safety of all stakeholders.
